Iv tired buried slight and on top. I'm making sure to cold stratifie them for 2week to 2 months. Iv planted over 100 poppy this year. Haven't had a single one sprout. Not sure how old the seeds are but I bought them about 8 months ago and have been tried since to grow them. I have 3 kinds none will grow no mater what I try. Poppy and cauliflower are the only thing iv never been able to sprout.

I can't get my poppies to germinate at all. I tried putting them in the fridge to stratify them. I sowed the boleo without covering the seeds but pressing against the ground. It is the first time that some seeds resist me! I can't believe it lol

They’re now sitting on a plate, with little seedlings all around the edges. But there are some mildewy ones in the middle. I’ve always wanted poppies, and I’m about to build a small garden. Poppy flowers presumable differ from Opium?

Aside from legal concerns, I'm wondering how Opium poppies are cultivated.

I think Opium is a pain killer or anaesthetic.
